Greetings From Alvin and Marion Curley Dear Brother Knights, Wives and Families,
On behalf of my wife Marion and me I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my Brother Knights, their wives and families for the tremendous support and encouragement given last year and we are looking for that same team work this year. The vision of the Knights is awesome and the more we see it the more we realize the Knights is a vehicle to follow Christ’s invitation “come follow me.” I join with State membership Chair Norbert Peters in encouraging every Council to use the Telephone Tree. This keeps all members informed. The Grand Knight is the key person in his Council. His leadership in teambuilding, initiatives, and having the ability to delegate is instrumental in having a successful Council. I said last year and I emphasize again this year: Getting the necessary forms in on time is crucial to your success as a Council as well as the Districts. The Five Pillars of the PEI Kof C are the State Deputies. They include: District One: DD Roy Gallant (Lorraine) Councils: Alberton, Bloomfield, Palmer Road and Tignish; District Two: DD Kenny MacLellan (Marie) Councils: Kensington, North Rustico, Seven Mile Bay, Summerside, and Wellington; District Three: DD Gordie Clow (Kathy) Councils: Fort Augustus, Iona, St. Pius X, and Stratford; District Four: DD Pat O’Connor (Margie) Councils: Montague, Morell, Souris, and Vernon River; District Five: DD Gaye Hood (Bonnie) Councils Cornwall, Holy Redeemer, St. Dunstan’s and St. Eugenes. I am please to announce that one of the youngest Knights, Brother Cory MacDougall has agreed to serve as contact person for Youth and State Squires. Welcome aboard Cory! All Councils and Districts are encouraged to use our webpage www.peikofc.com. Send information to website chair Steve Perry. His email is steve@peikofc.com. What a great vehicle for placing Council’s annual report. The website can be used to announce when the various Degrees are held as well as other activities. I want to thank the A-Team chaired by PSD Ralph Dunn. The Executive has studied their proposals and we look forward to working with Ralph and his new committee this next Knight’s year. I am grateful to the Executive, Service Chairs, Financial Secretaries, Degree Teams, GK’s and all of you who chair and/or work on committees. Welcome to our new Grand Master PST Les Standen We have a great order and we have every right to be proud of it Let’s continue to grow. Remember every hour you volunteer is an hour that is appreciated and valued.
Best wishes on behalf of Marion and Me,
Alvin Curley, State Deputy 2008-2009
